The Courage to Obey

OPENING PRAYER:

Spirit of God, grant us the courage to follow Your call, even when the path is uncertain. May we find strength in Your promises. Amen.

READ: Luke 1:38 (NIV)

"'I am the Lord’s servant,' Mary answered. 'May your word to me be fulfilled.' Then the angel left her."

Luke 1:38 (NIV)

REFLECT:

Mary's response to the angel's message is a testament to her faith and obedience. Despite the fear and uncertainty, she declared herself the Lord's servant, willing to embrace God's plan for her life. The pastor highlighted how fear can paralyze us, preventing us from acting in obedience. Yet, Mary's story teaches us that true peace and joy come from trusting and obeying God, even when it seems daunting. The pastor shared about Anthony Allen, a man who, despite a difficult past, chose to follow God's call and be baptized. His story is a powerful reminder that obedience often requires stepping out in faith, trusting that God will guide and provide. Like Mary and Anthony, we are called to listen and respond to God's voice, knowing that He is faithful and His plans are good.

APPLY:

Reflect on an area of your life where God is calling you to obedience. Take a step of faith this week, trusting that God will lead you through.

I WILL STATEMENT:
