Heavenly Citizenship
OPENING PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, remind us of our true home and help us to live as citizens of heaven. May our lives reflect the values of Your kingdom. Amen.
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ."
Philippians 3:20-21 (NIV)
REFLECT:
The message emphasized that as followers of Christ, our true citizenship is in heaven. This perspective changes everything about how we live on earth. Our guest speaker, Julie Bullock shared how Bill Bequette lived with this eternal perspective, investing in people and eternal treasures rather than temporary gains.
Paul's words remind us that while we are in the world, we are not of it. Our values, priorities, and actions should reflect our heavenly citizenship. The message challenged us to consider what we are investing in—are we focused on temporary, earthly things, or are we investing in the eternal?
Reflect on what it means for you to live as a citizen of heaven. Are there areas where you need to realign your priorities with the values of God's kingdom? Let this be a time of reflection and realignment, as you seek to live with an eternal perspective.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will give boldly because all things are possible through Jesus.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Father, thank You for the promise of our heavenly citizenship. Help us to live with an eternal perspective, investing in what truly matters. Amen.
