By Any Means Possible

OPENING PRAYER:

Gracious God, grant us the courage to pursue Your call with unwavering faith. May we be inspired by those who have gone before us and live with a "by any means" spirit. Amen.

READ: Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV)

"I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead."

Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV)

REFLECT:

Paul's desire to know Christ fully, even to the point of sharing in His sufferings, is a profound declaration of faith. The message emphasized that this isn't a call to seek suffering for its own sake but to embrace the transformative power of Christ's resurrection in our lives. Our guest speaker, Julie Bullock shared how Bill Bequette lived this out, serving at the Sedgwick County Jail microcampus so others would know Jesus, despite his own pain, driven by the belief that Jesus is worth every sacrifice.

This passage challenges us to consider what it means to live with a "by any means" faith. It's about being willing to endure hardships, not for the sake of suffering, but for the joy set before us—the resurrection life in Christ. The message reminded us that our citizenship is in heaven, and our lives should reflect that eternal perspective.

Paul's words invite us to a deeper commitment, one that is willing to face challenges and sacrifices for the sake of knowing Christ more fully. It's a call to live with purpose and passion, trusting that the power of the resurrection is at work in us, even in the midst of trials.

Reflect on what it means for you to live with a "by any means" faith. Are there areas where you need to step out in courage, trusting that Jesus is worth it? Let this be a time of recommitment to the call of Christ in your life.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will give boldly because all things are possible through Jesus. Is there a specific area where you can step out in faith? Take a concrete step towards that goal this week.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Father, thank You for the example of those who have lived with a "by any means" faith. Help us to follow in their footsteps, trusting in Your power and grace. Amen.
