OPENING QUESTIONS:
- Did you find yourself living life last week in the reality of Jesus’ words from the cross, “It is finished?” Why or why not?
- What is one thing that you are thankful for from last week?
- What is something that was stressful or difficult this week and how can we help?
IN THE WORD:
- Read Paul’s words in Ephesians 1:18-20 NIV from two different translations.
- Have two people in the group retell the story in their own words.
- Paul told the Ephesians that he was praying that their hearts would be enlightened so they would know hope. What do you think that meant to them?
- What does this teaching tell us about God?
- What does this teaching tell us about people?
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
- In a brief sentence or two, share with your group how you would describe the hope you have because of Jesus’ resurrection. When you were in a desert in your own life?
- How can we pray for you and for each other as we share about real hope in some way in the next week with someone who is in a desert?
