Prayer: The Unseen Power Source

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord, open our hearts to the power of prayer as we seek to connect with You and be transformed by Your presence. May our prayers be a conduit for Your light in the world.

READ: Colossians 4:2-4 (NIV)

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should."

Colossians 4:2-4 (NIV)

REFLECT:

The message highlighted the critical role of prayer as the electricity that powers our light. The apostle Paul, even while in chains, understood the necessity of prayer for effective ministry. He urged the Colossians to devote themselves to prayer, recognizing it as the foundation for proclaiming the gospel.

Pastor Elliott shared how a 24-hour prayer event at the church brought a sense of renewal and empowerment. Participants felt a tangible connection to God, illustrating how prayer can transform our hearts and align us with His will. This connection is not just for our benefit but equips us to impact others.

Prayer is not merely a ritual; it is a dynamic interaction with the Creator. It changes us, opening our eyes to the needs around us and giving us the courage to act. When we pray, we invite God to work in and through us, making us effective vessels of His light.

Reflect on your own prayer life. Are you plugged into the power source, or are you running on empty? Commit to making prayer a priority, trusting that God will use it to illuminate your path and the paths of those around you.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will pray for God to change my heart for the one He has placed in my life.

Be part of a unified movement of prayer by texting PRAYER to (316) 444-4180.

You’ll receive a weekly reminder every Wednesday at 1:54 PM to pray for your “one.” The time is inspired by Luke 15:4, where the shepherd goes after the one lost sheep. This is a simple way to join with others across our church community—wherever you are—as we commit to praying together through November 26. Even when we're apart, we can still be part of something bigger than ourselves.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Gracious God, thank You for the gift of prayer. Help us to remain devoted to it, trusting in its power to transform us and the world around us. May our prayers be a light that guides others to You. Amen.
