Spirit Empowerment Over Self-Improvement
OPENING PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, empower me to grow in love and reflect Your character. Help me to rely on Your strength rather than my own efforts. Guide me in this journey of transformation. Amen.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
REFLECT:
In his letter to the Galatians, Paul lists the fruit of the Spirit, beginning with love. This love is not something we can produce on our own; it is a result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. The message highlighted the importance of spirit empowerment over self-improvement. We cannot grow in agape love through sheer determination; we need the Holy Spirit to cultivate this love within us.
Consider how you can invite the Holy Spirit to lead your growth. Are there areas in your life where you have been relying on your own strength? Surrender these areas to God and ask Him to empower you to love others as He does. As you rely on the Spirit, you will find that love, joy, and peace naturally flow from your life.
APPLY:
Spend time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you need to rely more on His strength. Commit to surrendering these areas
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will do what love requires of me.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, I surrender my efforts to You. Empower me through Your Spirit to grow in love and reflect Your character. Help me to rely on Your strength in all things. Amen.
