Why Am I Here? For God’s Glory.

OPENING PRAYER:

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – remind us who you are today.

READ: Isaiah 12:4-5 (NIV)

“In that day you will say: Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.” Isaiah 12:4-5 (NIV)

REFLECT:

When we are living in the way that God created and intended us to, the source of our love, mercy, and action is not our own. Because of this, when we are living this way, we don’t want the credit. We want to exalt the name of the Source of Life, the Alpha and Omega, the Word among us, the Creator and Sustainer.

APPLY:

Spend time today thinking about how God has shown himself to you and your community as Jehovah Jireh - the God who provides or Jehovah Rapha – the God that heals, or the many other ways he shows himself to his creation. Take time to remember and honor the ways that God earns the name Jehovah Nissi – the God who is our banner.

CLOSING PRAYER:

God, remind us who you are and how you infiltrate our lives each day. Show us clearly the ways we can acknowledge you and continue to exalt your purpose through our own lives.
