He Is Guiding Us

After reaching a low point in their marriage, Shawna and Jerome Biggars started attending Pathway in August 2016 after several invitations from Pathway attender, Kurt Wiedenkeller.

“We decided together to recommit to Christ and then each other and now are blessed to be back on the journey with Him,” Jerome beamed. “As we made our commitment to Unfinished, we felt moved to contribute more financially than we have ever committed to.” Following Unfinished, the Biggars began to take steps of getting fully-engaged through Volunteering, and their Home Team as well.

One Saturday night, a greeter stopped the couple and asked if they wanted to start ushering at Pathway. They sat and talked before the service started about how they could serve others using their God given talents. During that service, Jonathan Anderson was introduced as the Campus Pastor in Valley Center. Shawna and Jerome knew God was speaking to them to help launch the campus. “We knew God was whispering and guiding us to do more and that this was the path He wanted us on.”

Now both Shawna and Jerome are very involved at the Valley Center Campus. Jerome volunteers with the tech team showing up early at 6:30 am, and staying though tear down after service. Shawna spends her time volunteering with the toddlers. They both enjoy volunteering and feel it is a way to get connected in the community.

They decided to join a Home Team after moving to the Valley Center Campus and are excited about the opportunity to grow with their group. While they usually meet at someone’s home, they also enjoy supporting local businesses by meeting in the community.

Since their Home Team is new, they are still exploring other possibilities to get involved in both Local and Global Outreach by serving others in need. “Even though we knew this would be a bit out of our comfort zone, we both trust that He is guiding us.”

You too can make a life-changing difference in someone’s life just like Kurt Wiedenkeller made in the Biggars. Make the ask and invite your “one” to join you.
